This week, we read Parshah Vayeshev and begin the Festival of Chanukah.  Is there a relation between the two?  In Vayeshev, Jacob’s favorite son, Joseph, is sold into slavery in Egypt by his own brothers, falsely accused of rape, and sent to prison.  What could this have to do with Chanukah, as the Festival of Lights and the miracle of the one undefiled cruse of oil lasting 8 days, instead of 1 day?  Are these two stories somehow related?  Please come, join us, and find out!
